Nearly fifty architects and design professionals from across London convened at our Kings Cross venue on 8 March 2018 to celebrate our London office launch event.
On arrival new and existing Applecore Designs clients helped themselves to drinks, nibbles and canapes then networked to build relationships and gain visibility. On the Ground Floor of the architecturally interesting York Way building, everyone gathered in the gallery area.
The event kicked off with a brief introduction and welcome by Scott Berry, Managing Director explaining how the Company has grown its portfolio of products and services since its inception 23 years ago. Best practice model-based workflow’s with ARCHICAD and Virtual Reality, a powerful way for communicating design intent were illustrated.
Scott said “Our training courses are aimed at users of all abilities, offering a more coherent, consistent and quality learning experience. Clients can monitor their progress and abilities through our digital badge scheme”
Before passing over to Chris Bryant of Alma-nac, Scott announced the evenings prize draw, a three course Michelin Star Dining experience for Two at the Shard!
Alma-nac implemented ARCHICAD four years ago to offer clients greater collaboration, more iterative design and the many benefits of using model-based design.
Chris talked about the growth of his studio since it was established in 2009, how they analysed the market for the most appropriate design tools and showed some of their impressive and award-winning projects.
He added that when Alma-nac purely used CAD software, a minor change can involve editing many different drawings. But with ARCHICAD, only one edit is required and everything is updated and tracked accordingly.
“An iterative design process delivers a better final outcome. The ability to easily revisit previous versions of a building design, while making multiple changes and tweaks without adding additional cost and time is very valuable.” Chris Bryant RIBA, Director Alma-nac
For their studio with growth ambitions, embracing model-based design on all projects, not just on larger or public projects as been imperative.
The evening closed with the announcement of the winner of the Shard Dining Experience, Bernard Farrant of Scenario Architecture, with all attendees leaving with a gift bag.
From early April we will be announcing details of prospecting events and training on ARCHICAD for all abilities from this Central London Location.
