GRAPHISOFT have announced details of their latest model based system and award winning BIM authoring tool, ARCHICAD 21 Teamwork.
Innovative workflows, Intuitiveness and performance have been the key differentiators to other architectural tools on the market and the latest version does not buck this trend. ARCHICAD 21 Teamwork introduces new stair and railing tools, updated ‘world class’ rendering, collision detection and enhancements to OPEN BIM workflows.
New Stair Tool
Designing stairs is one of the most complex tasks in architecture. ARCHICAD 21 Teamwork introduces the highly anticipated new Stair Tool, featuring GRAPHISOFT’s patent pending Predictive Design™ technology. This new tool evaluates thousands of design options and offers the most optimal stair designs to choose from in the context of the specific building – resolving issues on the fly!
New Railing Tool
The new Railing Tool can be used to create complex, associative railings for Stairs, Slabs, Walls, Roofs or Meshes. The configurable Pattern Editor offers unique railing patterns specific to each design project. Railing systems are created considering design rules and standards, posts and panels can be assigned as patterns, or customised individually.
Updated CineRender Visualisation
The built-in CineRender introduces features such as New Light Mapping, Secondary Global Illumination (based on Maxon’s latest v18 engine) and 3D Monochrome Images for more realistic and fast rendering in a single click.
Collision Detection becomes standard part of the feature set starting with ARCHICAD 21 allowing groups of elements to be compared through a set criteria. This helps designers fulfil their coordination role as lead consultant, especially in the BIM process.
Element Classification System
While previous ARCHICAD versions provided a fixed set of Element Classifications, ARCHICAD 21 introduces a flexible way to classify elements for better support of National or Company BIM standards. Classifications are core to intelligent OPEN BIM workflows, providing unprecedented interoperability among disciplines. Classifications can be transferred between projects via XML file format.
ARCHICAD 21 continues to support intelligent OPEN BIM workflows by placing IFC files as protected reference content via hotlinks. IFC hotlinks to reduce project file-size; and smart model filtering by categories, such as Structural or MEP, or by element selection to help design collaboration. The inserted IFC model content can be updated easily from the linked source file. If the link is broken, elements of the inserted IFC modules can be edited as regular ARCHICAD elements.
In addition to the features highlighted above, ARCHICAD 21 delivers other performance and functional improvements such as Curtain Walling and Teamwork. Our upgrade calculator lists all the new features and enhancements of ArchiCAD 21 in a user friendly format. Simply use the slider bar to list additional features/functions since ARCHICAD 13.
