Creation of Multiple File Formats, Plotting and Printing utilising Project Publisher

Within PlotMaker 3.1 go to FILE > PUBLISHER > PUBLISH this will open the Publisher Dialogue Box.

Notice that the items listed on the left are generated from Project Map and View Sets in ArchiCAD 8.1

Tip - if you double-click on the folders the drawings selected from your chosen view set in ArchiCAD will expand.

You will now need to create a VIEW SET > CLICK ON UNTITLED and NAME your VIEW SET.

CLICK ON VIEW SET PUBLISHING PROPERTIES the above dialogue box will open. For this example leave publishing method to SAVE FILES, PATH this will be located to a folder on your desktop or server. Click BROWSE to find the folder and leave structure etc. as default.

Hint - by changing the publishing method you can ‘Print’, ‘Save Files’, ‘Upload to internet’ or ‘Plot’ from within the Publishing Set

Tip - you may wish to create a new folder i.e in a job file and then locate it using the BROWSE button

CLICK OK, now DRAG & DROP the files required from the TREE into the PUBLICATION SET on the right.

Once you have all the files required, click on each one to change FORMAT (if required) for example DWF to DWG, then click PUBLISH

All files will be saved to the folder specified in Step Two.

Hint - you can drag & drop these items into the current Publication Set on the right hand side of the dialogue box. You can also change the format of the output file .ie dwf, dgn

This tip automates the process of saving out multiple files from within PlotMaker. A similar process can also be achieved from within ArchiCAD 8.1 utilising Project Map and View Sets.
